Wireless Head version of the M81

De M81 is door TELEFUNKEN Elektroakustik ontwikkeld met als doel een superieur alternatief te bieden voor die bekende "industry standard" microfoon.

Het brede frequentiespectrum doet direct denken aan een condensatormicrofoon. De hoge max. SPL waarde verraadt echter dat het hier een dynamische microfoon betreft. Deze microfoon levert het beste van twee werelden. De M81 is even geschikt voor vocalen als voor instrumentversterking. Zowel op het podium als in de studio.

Waarom klinkt deze microfoon zo goed?
De lage massa van het kapsel in combinatie met een uiterst dun (en toch verbazingwekkend sterk) membraan zorgen ervoor dat de M81 als vocal mic emotie weet over te brengen. Iets dat voordien
alleen was voorbehouden aan condensatormicrofoons van studiokwaliteit.

De korf en het kapsel zijn zodanig ontworpen dat het proximity effect (toename van het laag wanneer dicht bij de microfoon wordt gezongen) wordt gereduceerd. Het resulteert in meer helderheid zonder dat dit ten koste gaat van de kracht en autoriteit.
Tip: de M81 is ook geweldig voor snare.

De off-axis response van de M80 is een ander belangrijk pluspunt. Die is zodanig gevormd dat de kans op feedback uitermate klein is.

De in de USA ontworpen en gefabriceerde impedantietrafo is waar de magie werkelijk plaatsvindt. Deze zorgt voor een ideale koppeling van het M80 kapsel met "de buitenwereld". Het resultaat is een fantastisch klinkende microfoon die in rap tempo de harten heeft gewonnen van vele bekende Amerikaanse artiesten.

After giving the modified Shure® mics a try, more than 40 wireless modifications were ordered by Green Day as they embarked on a world tour. From this success "team TELEFUNKEN" developed a standard modification process for Shure® microphones (which made the guys at Shure® a little angry with us!!).

This is an entire M-81 (capsule, head grill, output transformer), neatly packed in a much shorter body with the screw on terminal connections. The result is a whole lot of microphone crammed in a little tiny space that provides 10 pounds of sound in a 6 oz package.

In development are screw on heads for Line 6® and Lectrosonic® transmitters as well as Sennheiser® transmitters. As of March 2011 these products are not yet available, but we hope to have them fitted and ready for use in the not too distant future.

The screw on M81-WH for Sennheiser® transmitter products will not be available any time in the near future (again, referenced to March 2011). The size and format of the transmitter system will require significant research and development on the part of "team T-funk." There is hope to have this system developed and released by January of 2012, but no promises can be made at this point.
